Fuzeon tablets
Feb 24, 2011

hello- i was wondering if fuzeon is in tablet form? if not, is there another medication like it? also the other medication in its category is selzentry for ccr5- is that only a ccr5 medication or is it like fuzeon- thanks-

Response from Dr. Young

Hello and thanks for your post.

Enfuvirtide (Fuzeon) is only available as a twice-daily subcutaneous injection and it is the only member of it's drug class.

Maraviroc (Selzentry) is a different class of medications (CCR5 inhibitor).

Both drugs prevent HIV entry into human cells, but work through entirely different mechanisms.

Hope this helps, BY
