grapefruit interaction with drugs Feb 14, 2011 Can I eat grapefruit or juice occasionally? I am on Combivir, Viracept, both for HIV and Metoprolol, and Provastatin for Blood presure and cholesterol. |

 Hello and thanks for your post. Wow, Viracept. That's a medication name I haven't heard for a while. While grapefruit has the potential to interact with some HIV medications (namely the protease inhibitors), it takes a lot of grapefruit to have any significant effect. The occasional ingestion of grapefruit juice or fruit shouldn't have any impact on your medications. Be well, BY | ||||||||
