 The HIV medications are effective at stopping the virus from making copies. On the treatment the viral load in the blood should become fully suppressed (undetectable). Once virus is shut down the body can start to recover and the CD4 cell count will increase. If meds are stopped, the virus will break out (will no longer be suppressed) and the viral load will come back up in the blood (usually in about 10 days to 2 weeks)and will start killing off Cd4 cells agian. Eventually the benefits of past treatment will be lost. Joe | ||||||||
