| re:re: is it safe to simplify? Sep 29, 2010 Hi Joe, Forgot to mention, the day I started on the reduced regimen (DRV(r) 3TC, I received the dual Hep A/B vaccine. Vaccines can temporally push up viral load into detectability. Therefore could I have had enough virus to select out against 3TC (M184V) for that week? Adding back Truvada a week later would no doubt push it back down to undetectablity (especially given M184V hyper-sensitizes Tenofovir), but I would have archived M184V. Is this plausible? I'm guessing it isn't, but I'm no expert. Thanks again, Michael. |

Response from Dr. McGowan
Michael, No that should be fine. Virus that is stimulated by vaccines comes from "integrated" virus. That is virus that has already undergone the reverse transciption step that is blocked by 3TC or tenofovir. Would not worry. Joe | |||||||||
