| re: is it safe to simplify? Sep 29, 2010 Hi Joe, Thanks for replying. After careful thought, I'm going back to Truvada. There was a thought about improving CD4 count by dropping TDF, but i'm not risking nrti mutations. Could I have risked M184V in a week without tdf? I have been undetectable for two years. The darunavir monotherapy trials are the monet and monoi studies located here: http://www.aidsmap.com/page/1435288/ Best, Michael. |

Response from Dr. McGowan
Michael, Thanks for the follow-up. I have seen no data that use of TDF would retard CD4 recovery (true for zidovudine). Since you have been undetectable for 2 years 1 week of simplified treatment should not be enough to allow viral breakthrough so it should be fine. Have your viral load checked in a few weeks to confirm continued suppression. Best, Joe | |||||||||
