| Got flu shot and forgot to take meds the same night Sep 5, 2010 Dear Expert: I have been non-detect for 2 1/2 years. I am on HAART. I just got my flu shot and that same night I forgot to take my meds. I immediately started back on my meds the following morning. In 20 years, I have only forgotten to take my meds 7 times (high-adherence). Will the flu shot super-charge the virus and resting CD4 cells, thus contributing to future drug resistance? |

Response from Dr. Young
Hello and thanks for your post. Assuming that your viral load was undetectable prior to receiving your flu vaccination, I don't think that missing a single dose of medications will have any significant impact on virus, CD4 or drug resistance. I hope this helps, BY | |||||||||
