Stopped after 2 weeks

Jun 19, 2010

I stopped taking the medication the doc gave me the meds were really kicking my butt I just couldn't handle it anymore so I stopped taking it, Should I get back on it now that I feel better? I stopped taking it about 2 weeks ago.. I just don't know what to do at the moment. What should I do?

Response from Dr. Young

Hello and thanks for your post.

If you've just started and were intolerant of your medications, it's quite reasonable (and safe) to stop the current medications.

This doesn't mean that you couldn't resume treatment, though likely with a modification of the regimen, based on the likely culprit.

The best thing to do is to stay in communication with your healthcare provider about how you're feeling and what the treatment plan should be at this point.

Be well, BY
