| About HIV C+ Feb 13, 2010 Dear Sir, This is patient from Pakistan, last Dec 2008 i donated blood to some than hospital management tells me i couldn't donate blood because i have HIV C+ antibodies present in my body than after i consult to other doctor he took different tests and tells me, i have HIV C+ antibodies present in body but those are not in a position to affect my body parts (liver). Than i will also took sane tests 02 times after 03 months durations than i got the same results...and no negative observations...please guide me about precautionary measures although im not involve in sex based issues or alcholic usage...Even Im not tell my parents about this...Please guide me. Hello Umair, Thank you for your post from Pakistan. I'm a bit confused as to what you mean by "HIV C" antibodies. Do you mean HIV clade (subtype) C or hepatitis C (HCV)? The repetitive nature of the results appear valid. If you mean hepatitis C, then the presence of the antibodies do not necessarily mean that you have active hepatitis. Indeed, about 1/3 of persons infected with HCV naturally clear the infection. Why not write back with follow up, we'd be happy to answer any additional questions. BY | |||||||||
