 Hello, Gonorrhea (GC) is a sexually transmitted disease that is treated with antibiotics. With rising rates of drug resistance, current recommendations are for the use of a injection of the antibiotic ceftriaxone, alternatively other antibiotics, like Cipro or Levaquin can be used. Most importantly, persons exposed to GC may have been exposed to other sexually tranmitted infections (such as HIV, hepatitis, syphilis or chlamydia) and should be evaluated and treated, as indicated.
