|Resveratrol ultra & Dermapril S-P
Jul 21, 2009
I recently heard about the supplements and the cream from the media. I want to know if the supplements have been tested for people who are HIV+ and are taking meds. Can the substances in these supplements interfere with meds or affect the liver. Thank you.

Resveratrol is derived from various plant sources and marketed as an anti-oxidant and as the component of red wine that seems to protect against heart attacks. It is manufactered by various companies so the contents of any specific product could vary significantly. I can find no specific medical report about the effect of resveratrol on the liver (most studies so far are in rats) or in people with HIV.
Dermapril is being advertised as an anti-wrinkle cream. Likewise there is no data on its use in HIV that I am aware of. Since it is unlikely to be absorbed into the blood stream it is probably safe for the liver, but maybe not for the pocketbook.
