| Re: how fast does therapy work Jun 15, 2009 this email may help the person who asked the question about how quickly can therapy work. my partner was diagnosed in July 2008 with (like you) a low CD4 count (10) and a VL of 50,000. He had PCP at time of diagnosis. He is 43. He was put on Atripla in August 2008 and his numbers look like this. September 2008; VL 1000; CD4 50 OCTOBER 2008; VL 250;CD4 90 DECEMBER 2008 VL UD;CD4 104 MAY 2009;VL UD;CD4 150 He has never missed his medication. Like you he showed some signs of resistance (to efivarenz)but doctor said it was a small mutation and started him on it anyway...to see would it wor...and thankfully the resistance did not prove a problem. |
