Norvir
Jan 19, 2009

I read online last year that there would be a Norvir tablet that does not need to be refrigerated. Is there anymore information on when this will be available?

Response from Dr. Young

Thanks for your post.

Abbott Labs (not my favorite example of corporate social responsibility) has long promised the tablet formulation of ritonavir (Norvir) as part of their rationale for the immoral 400% price increase of Norvir in 2003.

While data on the tablet were presented at the October ICAAC/IDSA meeting, I've heard not a word since.

If anyone has heard otherwise (They don't talk to me), I'm more than happy to hear.
