My meds

Apr 15, 2008

I am on a treatment of Lamivir-S30 and Viread. Is this a good combination? Should I discuss another option with my doctor?

Response from Dr. Young

Thanks for your post.

Triple nucleoside combination regimens like yours (d4T+3TC and tenofovir) are not recommended except for very rare situations.

I'd be asking why your doctor chose this combination over regimens that are recommended that usually involve two nucleosides and a third (or forth) medication of different drug class.
