Thank you for your post. If you are entirely asymptomatic, with your normal CD4 count, percentage and average viral load, I would not strongly recommend initiating treatment. Rather, I think that this is a great time to invest efforts into getting your preventative medicine issues (vaccinations, tobacco, mental health, heart/kidney/bone/liver health, etc) is top order. Exactly which regimen to start is a matter of individualized decision making, rather than a one regimen fits all approach, in my opinion. Individualized means looking at the particular nature (ie genetics) of your virus and your background medical and family history (and in our clinic, HLA testing for abacavir hypersensitivity risk).
