I want ot discontinue treatment
Dec 16, 2007

I have been disables, driven into bankruptcy and demoralized by AIDS. Now I cannot get financial help for my medical bills because my SSDI is too high. how do i bring up discontinuing treatment with my (new) HIV doc?

Response from Dr. Wohl

Our medical system produces many casualties, and it sounds like you are one. Be frank with your doc. He or she may be able to find creative ways to get you meds including pleading with the drug companies, talking to local AIDS Service Orgs or getting the hospital to work out a plan for you.

Do not give up as you then let the bastards win.
