Have AIDS with no insurance
Nov 6, 2007

I have a aunt who is 63yrs old, has low income and does not have any insurance and has recently been diagnosed with AIDS. How can we help her get insurance and get her started with any treatment.

Response from Dr. Young

Sorry to hear about your aunt.

If she lives in the US, the best thing to do at this point is to contact your local AIDS service organization (check out ASOfinder.com). The ASO folks should be able to direct her to services and doctors in the area that can help her navigate her recent diagnosis as well as the sometimes formidable problem of accessing care.

I wish her well, BY
