CD4 levels have increased, am I infected?
Oct 29, 2007
Dear Dr. I found that I am HIV+ four months ago I make CBC anf CD4 test every months, I found that each month my CD4 level increases until it reached 1404/ul whuch max. reading in normal levels, does this I am still infected or what?
Response from Dr. Pierone
Some people with HIV infection have a normal CD4+ lymphocyte count, especially in the early years of the infection. To verify the diagnosis of HIV infection you should have a viral load test which tells how much of the virus is circulating in the bloodstream. Based on your normal CD4+ lymphocyte count chances are that the level of virus is low. Good luck!
