Can I take anti-acid
Sep 18, 2007

Dr. Young,

I'm on Atripla and always forget to ask my Dr this question. Can I take anti-acids, eat grapefruit? Anything to watch out for? Thank you in advance.

Response from Dr. Young

Thanks for your post.

Yes, it's ok to take Atripla (tenofovir/FTC/efavirenz) with antacids or grapefruit. There's no strict diet requirements either-- you can take Atripla with or without food, though when taken with food, the absorption increases (increasing the potential for side effects).

? Change to Kivexa or stay with Combivir?
