| Atripla & drug screening Aug 6, 2007 I have been taking Atripla daily for the past year recently accepted a position with a company who sent me to pre-employment drug screening. Can Atripla cause a false positive reading in this type of drug screening? I also occasionally take Xanex when I travel to help with anxiety. Can this also cause a false positive reading in a urine test? |

Response from Dr. Pierone
The Sustiva (efavirenz) which is contained in Atripla rarely results in a false positive blood test for marijuana. Xanax will produce a positive test for benzodiazepine if this is tested for (unlikely), but not marijuana. | |||||||||
