I am a 54 y female. Diagnosed HIV+ in November. My first CD4 was 103 and 2nd 183. Viral loads 83,900. After 4 weeks only on Atripla my numbers are : CD4 303 and Viral Load 54. Sidenote: I was on Prednisone and Methotrexate for Rheumatoid arthritis prior to diagnosis. Is this a normal response? I think I should be encouraged by these numbers?

Thanks for your post.
Prednisone and methotrexate not withstanding, yes, you should be very excited about these results-- just 4 ticks away from the magical less than 50 copy, undectable level and over a 100 cell increase in CD4s.
Both are larger changes than expected after only 4 weeks of treatment and are highly indictative of excellent long-term outcomes.
Best of health to you. BY
