cd4
Feb 8, 2007

I was diagnosed +ve in 2003 with a cd4 of 35 but had never been sick or had any illness. I was under a lot of stress. I was immediately put on drugs and two months later, my cd4 had gone up to 350 with undetectable vrial load. Could stress have had anything to the low cd4?

I have never been sick or had any illness and have never had any reactions with the drugs (efavirenz and coviro).

Response from Dr. Young

Thanks for your post.

I'm happy to hear that you're doing well on your HIV treatment and don't have any significant side effects.

Short of the physiological stress of something as serious as overwhelming trauma or bone marrow failure, the more usual stress alone won't decrease one's CD4 to 35.

Best of continued health to you. BY
