Response from Dr. Young
Frank, thank you for posting. In general, I don't recommend that persons living with HIV obtain HIV meds without medical supervision. HIV medications are available in many parts of the world, often with limited cost to the person-- paying out of pocket, even over the net, can be prohibitively expensive, unless you're exceptionally wealthy. There are many excellent options for treatment- knowing which medications to use and when to start requires a lot of background infrormation about your friend's health. Contacting a local AIDS-service organization (ASO) can be a useful starting point. Let us know where he lives, we might be able to assist with getting him connected with the right people. Best of luck and health, BY | |||||||||
