Treatment with Efavirenz 600 mg Nov 2, 2006 I have been tested positive and my CD4 is 108. The docs started medication with Efavirenz 600mg(one at night) and Stavudine & Lamivudine 400mg (Twice a day). I had rash and frequent fever and it subsided. How these medicines are going to help me in actual ? I am from India. |

 These drugs will prevent HIV from reproducing in your body and allow your CD4 cells (which protect you from infections), currently being destroyed by the HIV, to grow. Think of your HIV as foxes and your CD4 cells as rabbits. Right now you have few rabbits because there are way too many foxes about. Get rid of many of the foxes and you are overrun by bunnies.
