A known man that has is hiv negative has been having sex without protection from his hiv positive wife for 2 years now and the man has been tested in the past and recent time he is still negative. the test was done using Rapid Test Kits(Abbot Determine and Stat-pak with Capillus) why could be the cause of this Dr

This happens. There are couples who are serodiscordant (one is HIV+, the other HIV-) despite repeated exposures. Reasons: luck, natural resistance to HIV infection (may not be absolute but can reduce odds of infection), low level of virus present in the genital secretions of the infected partner. There may be others that have to do with the virus itself that we do not understand well yet.
Some studies of serodiscordant couples do show transmission happening over time. So just because one partner has dodged the bullet does not always mean he always will.
