| KS Treatment Jul 3, 2006 Dear Dr. Young: You responded to my last question and suggested that any HAART treatment would be effective for KS. You never mentioned chemo therapy. However, my oncologist is recommending chemo and didn't mention anything about a HAART treatment. Which is correct? |

Thanks for your post. In general, KS that's limited only to the skin can be treated with HAART. Chemotherapy would be reserved for lesions that didn't respond to HAART alone. For KS that involves internal organs (lung, intestines, brain-- for example), chemotherapy is commonly used. I hope this helps. BY | |||||||||
