if me or my girlfriend are hiv+
Jun 28, 2006

a couple weeks ago my girlfriend gave me oral sex and now she has a white spot on her uluva and complains of diffuctly swallowing and a sore throat but her doctor told her it was pseudomembranous candidiasis but he never done n e tests could it jsu be strep throat or could one of us have hiv?

Response from Dr. Wohl

The only way to find out is to get an HIV test. The only people who should not get HIV tested are:

-People who have never had sex or shared needles.

-People who a) have never shared needles and who b) have had sex only with one person who themselves had never shared needles or had sex with anyone else or is otherwise known to be HIV-negative.

Instead of guessing and worrying, find out.
