HIV CARRIER
May 26, 2006

My partner has AIDS his CD4 is 75). I have tested negative for HIV repeatedly, does this mean I may be a carrier, or does a person have to be HIV positive to be a carrier. Thank you, Jacky

Response from Dr. Young

Jacky- Thanks for your post.

Count yourself fortunate-- a negative HIV test means just that- you're not a carrier (assuming that you haven't been recently infected or exposed.

Best of health to you and your partner. BY
