| Follow-uo question about mucosal disease & sinusitis May 23, 2006 Hi Dr Wohl, Thank you for your very helpful (14 May) response to the question about mucosal disease & sinusitis. I have been prescribed predinsolone 100mg one a day. Does that sound like the sort of short course of high dose steroid that clears up most acute and chronic cases of mucosal disease/inflammation and chronic sinusitis? Any further advice you can offer would be great. Also interested to hear the experiences of others who have suffered chronic (sphenoid) sinusitis and extensive mucosal disease/inflammation. I am forever grateful to you and your colleagues for a very informative and supportive site. |

Response from Dr. Wohl
Hi This is a high dose that hopefully will be tapered quickly. It should help but recurrences are common. In some cases, surgery is really the best approach. DW | |||||||||
