better understanding

May 19, 2006

taking truvada, sustiva & batrim, trying to eat right-stop eating fried foods & stop drinking, drink plenty of water- how do you get your cd4 up.

Response from Dr. Young

Thanks for your post.

Eating right, stopping smoking and getting exercise are great ways to enhance your health, but won't do very big things to your CD4 count.

The best thing that you can do to raise your CD4 counts is to stay adherent to your very effective HAART regimen-- many patients can expect to see a CD4 cell increase of as much as 200 cells in the first year.
