| Super Infection May 3, 2006 Dr. Young, Is there such a thing as "Super-Infection". Can one be infected with more than one strain of HIV? Thanks in advance for your answer to this question? |

Thanks for your post. In short, yes. While not common, super-infection with a second strain of HIV can occur. (This is a reason why I recommend that my HIV+ patients practice safe habits). BY | |||||||||
