i am sick all the time

Feb 19, 2006

Dear Dr i been tested HIV positive on Dec 2005. my Dr told me my cd4 below 200. I did take medication for Hiv since then, it been almost 2 months now. but I am sick all the time like i am feeling cold and catch the flu all the time. So my question to you is what can i do to boost T-cell or get better without sick anymore Dr. please help me thanks. John

Response from Dr. Young

John- Thanks for your post.

If you're not feeling well, you should discuss your symptoms with your doctor-- from what you've described, it's difficult for me to decide if it's because of medication-related side effects or a HIV-related complication. Nevertheless, with a CD4 count below 200, you should certainly be on HAART, it's simply a mater of finding out which medications work best for you and your virus.

Good luck, BY
