HIV and Needles
Jan 22, 2006
In November, I went to a club and someone poked me with a needle from the back. I don't know who did it and what they poked me with exactly. It swelled up really bad and i went to a hospital and they prescribed me with Retrovir and lamivudine for 6 weeks. A few weeks after that, I got colds and headaches that on and off. Are those signs of HIV positive?? What are the chances of me getting HIV from getting poked with a needle? Please help, im scared out of mind!!

No, your symptoms don't sound like either HIV nor a toxicity of the PEP that you took.
Talk to your doctor about your symptoms-- a medical evaluation (with any appropriate testing) is a whole lot easier that staying "out of your mind". BY
