American Living Abroad
Nov 4, 2005
Hi! First of all, thanks ofr such an informative website! I'm having a little trouble finding the appropriate forum for my question, as you will see. I will ask it here since it does have to do with my medication.
I am an HIV+ American living and working in Europe. I am planning on travelling to the US soon for a visit. I know that HIV+ foreign nationals are not allowed entrance to the US... will I encounter any problems when I travel with a US passport? Will they confiscate my medication? Will they deny me entrance? Please help me... I'm very nervous! Thanks!

Thanks for your post.
As far as I know, you won't have any issues. I have a number of patients (US citizens) who travel internationally with frequency-- I haven't heard of any problems at immigration or customs.
Safe travels, BY
