neuropathy question

Oct 25, 2005

can foot neuropathy happen at any stage of hiv regardless of vl or cd4 count. seven months after exposure, does this mean high vl or fast progression?

Response from Dr. Young

Thanks for your post.

While peripheral neuropathy can occur at any CD4 count, it's much more common among persons with lower CD4 counts. I'm not aware of any particular association between PN and viral load or rate of disease progression. BY

Good news!
