Response from Dr. Wohl
Individuals who are HIV+ and have a persistently high CD4 and an undetectable or very low viral load are typically considered long term non-progressors. I am unclear from your email what your viral load exactly is. If is is in the thousands, I would hesitate to label you as a non-progressor as such levels of viral load are associated with CD4 cell count declines over time. Regardless of such semantics, you have a wonderful CD4 cell count. Your counts should continue to be monitored and you should work on doing all you can to remain healthy. DW | |||||||||
