| TPHA Positive Oct 15, 2005 I am, 42, male, marries with two healthy children and TPHA Positive. Because of this I did not get jobs in SAUDI ARABIA. How Serious is TPHA being positive? What precautions can I have to exercise? Any medicine to turn TPHA negative? Thanks Rukmini |

Rukmini: Thank you for your post. Treponema pallidum hemagluttin antigen (TPHA) positivity means that you've been exposed to (and infected with) the organism that causes syphillis (Treponema pallidum). This is generally not a serious condition, unless left untreated for many years. Treatment is usually a series of injections of penicillin; once-a-week for 3 weeks. There's no reason to modify your exercise habits because of this test. I hope this helps, BY | |||||||||
