| Opinion on this regimen Aug 22, 2005 Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. I was diagnosed positive a year ago and started my first regimen 8 months ago. Initially, I had a VL of over 100,000 and a CD4 count of 326. Now I am undetectable and a CD4 of 930. My doctor and I are very pleased. My question, what is your opinion or experiences with my regimen: Truvada, Reyataz and boosted with Norvir? I generally feel fine with the exception of being a little tired, some gas and bloating from time to time. I'm just curious as to how you feel about this regimen and how any of your patients may be reacting to this regimen. Thanks so much for all you do with this informative site. Response from Dr. Wohl
I like it. It is once a day, only 4 pills and should not increase your lipids. It certainly should be potent. The only downsides are that there are few published data regarding this regimen and that tenofovir is known to lower Reyataz levels - although it looks like the Norvir helps compensate for this effect. Obviously, in your case it has been a winner. DW | |||||||||
