Hello :). just a quick question.

I have noticed recentley that I have a strange "fungus" like coating on my tongue and am a little worried as to what it could be. My mouth and gums are healthy, I brush twice a day and use mouthwash 3 times a day, so my question is, how do I get rid of this? it's really starting to bother me.

Thank you very much! :)

Response from Dr. Young

Thanks for your post.

The very first thing to do is to establish whether your coating is really a fungus infection, or something benign like "geographic tongue". In other words, without a diagnosis, prescribing a treatment is frought with difficulties (if not dangerous).

Talk you your doctor, let her or him examine your tongue. A simple diagnostic test can usually establish what's going on. BY

Can I wait?
