hiv and infertility
Jul 10, 2005
what can I do if I want to have a child yet I only have one tube and its not good. are there any trials for infertility because most clinics are bias toward women and hiv thank you for any response
Response from Dr. Wohl
There are a number of infertility clinics that will see HIV+ women (even in North Carolina) so a trial is not really necessary, or likely to exist.
If you live in a major US city, I would try to go to a large medical center that has an infertility clinic. Some of these clinics are more eager to work with HIV+ women id their viral load is undetectable and CD4 high. Plus suuport from your HIV doc would be very helpful.
Realize, in many cases, infertility treatment is not free and can actually be quite expensive.
