|Are peptides good?
May 5, 2005
Hi friends! Now that I'm about to start my treatment (Kaletra/Combivir), I received an e-mail offering a "new drug" called "The Antidote". It says it's a nearly miracolous drug made of peptides and the magic is that it can improve the immune system, even in cases of HIV. So, I would like to know if that's true, if you know something about this drug or anything at all, because I would like to buy it but I'm not sure. Even if it's true, could it be useful with the Kaletra/Combivir treatment I'm in? The address of this product is: http://www.crocinamillion.info/fvd/index.php I really would like to know. Thanks.

It is just too tempting to say this is all a crock given this stuff is apparently based on a substance found in crocodiles, who apparently have very good immune systems.
The website cites no studies testing this substance in humans (or even animals, although there are some nice pictures of wide mouthed crocs).
I would be skeptical given the lack of data - call me old fashioned. Now, Kaletra and Combivir, that is something that has been well studied. Given the choice, I'd recommend avoiding the reptile blood and go for the HAART.
