Response from Dr. Pierone
Although Viramune is not FDA approved for once daily dosing, it is commonly used in this manner. The blood levels that are achieved with once daily dosing of this agent fully support this approach. Our team has been prescribing Viramune once daily for years with no problems. Abacavir (Ziagen) and 3TC (Epivir) have been approved for once daily dosing and are available now co-formulated in a pill called Epzicom that adds to the convenience of this combination. | |||||||||
