Dr,Wohl

can a hiv positive individual if start its therapy in the right time and adherance its medicaltion really well can survive for over 20 years after satrding treatment ? (if the number can be more plz let me know).

Response from Dr. Wohl

HIV medications are extending the lives of people living with HIV by years, if not decades. Remember that many people live well over 10 years with HIV even without HIV treatment. Their CD4+ cell counts may decline and they may become ill but not always.

Add on to this natural history of HIV progression therapy that can possibly add 10 or more years and you are looking at a long time to live and be well.
