Liver function slighty high
Jun 7, 2004

My doctor referred me to a Gastrointestinial specialist when my Liver function tests showed high results. Then a follow up visit the results went back down and another visit shot back up a little. I then had an ultra sound done which came back normal. The specialist says my triglicirides are not that high and then recommended a liver biopsy? Does this seem necessary??

Response from Dr. Lee

Based on what you have reported, (normal ultra sound and liver tests back to normal) it is not clear why a liver biopsy is being recommended. I suggest you talk to your regular doc about the specialist's recommendations to see if there is a more specific reason for this suggestion.

Be well.
