To answer your question, I'd have to know at least more about how advanced your partner's HIV is, what sort of brain tumor we are talking about and his age. Regarding HIV, a CD4 cell count (also called a T-cell count) provides a measure of how the immune system is being effected by HIV. A low number (below 200) indicates advanced HIV infection. Also, the amount of HIV in the blood (called a viral load test) can be useful for estimating prognosis as the more virus that is present, the more rapid the immune system decays. DW | |||||||||
