|give me the facts: hep c and hiv co-infection?
Feb 2, 2004
I am a bit confused. Falling into this category I am wondering what the difference is in life expectancy having both of these conditions rather to just having hiv? Can i expect decades or just years at the most?

I urge you to also post this question in the Hepatitis and HIV Forum as that is where you will find the co-infection extraordinaires.
Data suggest that having both viruses is worse than having either one alone.
Now this is based on statistics and as we both know you are not a statistic. Control of HIV is a reality and for a significant minority of folk cure of HCV is possible. Much depends on your counts, your overall health, your attitude, your access to good HIV and HCV therapies and what therapeutic developments the future holds. Meanwhile, look both ways before you cross. DW
