Is there hope?
Oct 17, 2003

I have a CD4 count of 189 and a viral load of 189,000. I am newly positive. Is there a good prognososis, if I take my medications faithfully? I do not have any OI's at the moment.

Response from Dr. Young

Yes, there is plenty of hope and a very good long-term prognosis for you.

Make sure that you find an experienced HIV doctor and when you start medications (soon, I would expect), work as hard as possible to get the adherence thing down.

Good luck. BY

When to start treatment
