The same Guy on Life Span
Oct 10, 2003

Dear Dr. Pierone,

I'm the same 30 y/o guy on life span...

I apologize, but I just realized that I missed to tell you that the medications that I'm on are: Combivir (twice a day) and Sustiva (once a day)

Thanks and sorry!

Response from Dr. Pierone

This is a very good regimen that many would consider to be the current standard of care for HIV infection. It is one of the preferred regimens in the DHHS guidelines and is very effective. The key is full adherence. I forgot to mention your concern with PCP, you should be on prophylaxis with trimethopirim-sulfa (Bactrim, Septra), 3 double-strength tablets per week (M, W, F) until your CD4 goes above 200. Good luck and update us on your progress from time to time.
