how long

How long does a person live once they are diagnosed with aids. I have read posts that hiv infected people that take their pills should be able to have close to normal lifespans. What about someone who is diagnosed with aids but also adheres to medications?

Response from Dr. Young

This enters into some very speculative territory, but I also believe that persons recently diagnosed with AIDS (not just HIV) and find the way to access adhereable, tolerable and potent HIV medications can also live normal- or near-normal life spans. BY
