Africa, as you know, is a big place. The availability of different drugs in different countries is very variable. In many nations, generic copies of HIV medications are the most abundant and inexpensive of these drugs. However, even though they cost a fraction of the price of the original medications, they remain out of reach for most of those living with HIV.
The regimens most commonly used in Africa include the generic called Triamune (d4T+3TC+nevirapine). AZT+3TC+Sustiva is also found in several countries.
If you have the reasources to pay for medication, find a clinic or agency that treats those with HIV - these are often in the large cities. DW
