Blood coagulation risk Jul 19, 2003 Dr. Young, I am not on HIV meds. On a recent blood test, my INR/coagulation number was 0.7, with normal being from 2 to 3.5. My doctor said that the result was nothing to be concerned about. Do you agree? How low does one's INR have to be for there to be a really serious risk of clotting/thrombosis etc.? Thank you. |

 0.7 is normal... the "normal" value from 2 to 3.5 refers to persons who are taking anticoagulant medicines to prevent blook clots. Assuming that you don't need these medications, having a value of 0.7 (essentially 1.0) is normal. BY | ||||||||
